A project in development

Villages have a lot to say.

We are preparing a network of online community radios in Extremadura to connect people, share stories and open up opportunities for employment and participation in rural areas.

The idea

A radio made from the villages and with their neighbours.

Voz Rural begins with a simple idea: that the life of our villages should have a space of its own to be heard.

A place to share what is happening, to talk about what matters and to keep the stories that form part of our memory.

What we want to achieve

Four purposes, one voice.

  1. Give a voice to rural areas.

Bring their stories, initiatives and needs to more people.

  2. Open up employment opportunities.

Help people who meet more barriers to access work, especially people with disabilities, women and young people.

  3. Connect the community.

Create a meeting point for neighbours, associations, schools and local businesses.

  4. Keep memory alive.

Collect the experiences and recollections of older people to share them with new generations.
