The project
A network of online community radios for rural areas.
The project plans to connect four local stations through the internet, with teams that will receive training and support to create content that is close to people, useful and accessible.
How it will work
Each station will have a team from its own town preparing content about life in the village. Because they are connected through the internet, all four will be able to share programmes, collaborate with each other and reach more people, wherever they live.
Training and support
Participants will receive training in communication, radio, digital tools and accessibility, and will have support throughout the process to build confidence and independence.
Phases
A journey in four steps.
Step 1: Prepare.
Define the participating towns, the spaces and the teams.
Step 2: Learn.
Train in communication, radio, digital tools and accessibility.
Step 3: Create and share.
Produce interviews, stories and programmes connected with local life.
Step 4: Keep it going.
Work so that the stations take root in their communities and can be sustained over time.

What we will be able to hear
These are some of the possibilities we want to explore with each station:
- Local news and everyday life
- Interviews with neighbours and associations
- Stories and oral memory
- Culture, traditions and the land
- School radio and young voices
- Equality, diversity and accessibility
- Local initiatives and businesses

A radio with room for more voices.
We want more people to be able to take part in communicating their villages. That is why accessibility, plain language and diversity will be present in the tools, in the training and in the content.
Project status
We are taking the first steps.
We are currently working on defining the participating towns, organising the teams and the technical needs. We will share the next updates as they are confirmed.
